Guten Tag Out today!! Hooray!!!
Kalkbrenner’s fondness for the metronomic thud of the kickdrum threatens to derail ‘Guten Tag’ and consign it to the fate of being merely a passable techno record that lacks euphoric climaxes. However, as the balance improves, you start to realise that the electronic arrangements are delicate and teeming with melancholy, and you’re left with the interesting juxtaposition of the reflective with big beat. From then on, ‘Guten Tag’ takes on a different guise - is it an allegory about the shallowness of life as a superstar DJ? Probably not, but Kalkbrenner has created something far more immersive than the disposable quick fix you might have expected.

Chemical Brothers - The Devil Is In The Beats
This is one of the tracks from Hanna, which the Chemical Brothers soundtracked. Its very catchy and I find myself whistling it at work continuously. The film is also worth a watch.

"CORPORATE OCCULT" Huoratron
This Video is crazy. I love the song too. One way ticket to nosebleedsville.
Dubstep??
Although I am not a massive dubstep fan. There is the odd song that sneaks onto my hard drive and this be one of them. You know what? I Like It!
Paul Kalkbrenner
Kalkbrenner's Jestrüpp is fucking amazing. Low key, relentless and cool as christmas. The use of a heavy guitar riff has been used in so many tracks in the past. Some work and others sound like dogshit. This one works believe me.
I am yet to see Mr Kalkbrenner as he is still fairly unknown in the UK...................
Orbitals Soundrop
http://open.soundrop.fm/s/orbital
Being a fan of Orbital for over 15 years now, I still love their clicks and breaks approach to dance music. They were of course one of the first "intelligent" dance acts. Not afraid to use large ambient fills bang smack of the middle of a heavy bass section.
Their version of the DR WHO theme was amazing . I had many a night dancing my tits off to that shit.
'Chime' is the fucking belter though, I challenge anyone on ecstasy not to lose themselves into that. There has been so many remixes made of it but the original is as bassey and heavy as it needs to get. The perfect mix of ambient and dance.
